Office of Diversity and Outreach
Summary Description
The mission of the Office of Diversity and Outreach (ODO) is to build a broadly diverse community, nurture a culture that is welcoming and supportive, and engage diverse ideas for the provision of culturally humble education, discovery, and patient care for all. We are committed to serving every person with equal dignity and respect.
ODO is responsible for and collaborates with the four professional schools, the Graduate Division and the health system to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility across UCSF through consensus building, ongoing assessment, development of new programs, and systems changes.
The Office includes oversight of the Center for Science Education and Outreach, Climate and Belonging, Disability Access and Inclusion, LGBTQ, Multicultural and CARE Resource Centers, the Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination, and the direct office of the Vice Chancellor of Diversity and Outreach.
